Reasons for Homelessness
Please note the first paragraph is a repeat of a paragraph on the About Us page.
We are aware that many believe that each of the people who are homeless have done something to cause their situation. We would say to them, if it was not for the grace of GOD, we could be in that homeless person’s position. We believe Romans 3: 23 (ESV) which states "...for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of GOD, ..." We believe that GOD's grace is unearned, undeserved favor, love, and mercy.
According to the National Alliance to End Homelessness website, 2025, (https://endhomelessness.org/overview/ ), homelessness “... affects people from all walks of life who struggle due to economic hardship, lack of affordable housing, or other systemic barriers. The reality is that most people are forced into homelessness by circumstances beyond their control. The solutions lie in systemic changes, no quick fixes.”
An article titled: Campbellsville University, Causes of Homelessness: Main Factors Explained, posted on August 28, 2026, (https://online.campbellsville.edu/social-work/factors-that-cause-homelessness/ ) listed the following as the factors why people were homeless:
Lack of affordable housing;
Poverty and income inequality;
Unemployment and sudden job loss;
Mental health conditions;
Substance use disorders;
Domestic violence;

Youth homelessness due to aging out of foster care.
